The idea of gene editing can have an impact on the way people mentally feel, which people don’t realize because they only think it is a medical and ethical issue. Dalai Lama states, “The issue here are not just medical but ethical and can affect the psychological well-being of the people concerned,” (Lama,65). Dalai Lama is arguing that when considering gene editing people only look at the medical effects and ethical side, and oversee the mental effects it can have on a person. Although there is a concern on how gene editing can affect mental health, they are trying to use gene editing to help mental illness without antidepressants. The article Crisper Powers the Hunt for New, Better Antidepressants states, ” we can do that with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technology to learn how particular drugs affect individual receptor subtypes”, (Dryden-Wustl). This article is arguing that CRISPER a gene editing technology can look at how certain drugs affect receptors and fix the receptors by doing gene editing to replace antidepressants. In the world now a days mental health is a hush hush topic people don’t often want to think about. Whether or not gene editing is good for mental illness or causes mental illness, they main idea here is mental health as a whole. With gene editing there needs to be more research in order to know whether fixing the receptors of mental illness is going to be good, or if by doing this as a whole it could be good for one but affect the mental health of many others.

I am curious about your article ! TY for including the source site
I wonder if you could connect the two quotes more rather than stating what the two articles are about. There is a good explanation on the two articles, but I don’t really see the connection between the two other than they both mention using this technology for mental health. I would move away from using “states” as a signal phrase and try to add a more detailed explanation on how the Dalai Lama relates to the second article.
