When putting evidence into my essays, I often would go back and use important highlighted parts from my reading. I often did this in papers one and two, as paper three used quotes that weren’t in a paper. When it came to quotes that were online that I got, I simply would read through, and pick which I thought most would support the idea I was trying to get across. When highlighting in papers I would often highlight key words from sentence that I thought were important, or overall whole sentence that I thought would be important. When it came to putting evidence in my papers I also went through and reread the quotes to see if I needed the whole quote or just a certain part of it that really supported my idea that I was trying to explain. In paper two I thought it was harder to find evidence because there was a great variety that supported what I was trying to say, and I really had to think which one was going to be the best fit. Looking at the final of paper two, I used my thesis statement to make sure the quotes I did choose truly connected to the ideas I was trying to state. Also when it came to using evidence I learned how to properly introduce a quote and explain what the quote means. This was a very useful tool to learn because before I would barely explain and introduce my quotes in a poor way. From reading “They Say I Say”, I now have tools that I learned how to properly use evidence in a paper. In my final paper two, if you go to the paragraph two I do a good job explaining the quote and introducing the quote.
