Dalai Lama is surely right with the fact that all human beings have value no matter what disease or disability they may have, and because of having a cousin with down syndrome I can confirm this. People believe that being born with a disease of disability is the end of the world. This is a statement Dalai Lama disagrees with. Dalai Lama supports “All human beings have an equal value and an equal potential for goodness,”(67). Dalai Lama is trying to explain that no matter what disease or disability the person may live with, that everyone no matter their differences is worth all the same and has the potential to be great in their own way. Having a cousins with down syndrome I see this supported because I see her strengths shine through the differences that other people may see looking at her. Personally the only way I for see gene editing being appropriate is if the embryo is foreseen as being a still born at birth, or an extremely poor quality of life with an early death.
