The purpose of art is to reveal who the viewer is; it does this by making the viewer feel emotions and connecting them back to themselves. Everyone views art in different ways and thinks art has different purposes. According to the Ted Talk presenter Titus Kapher “Can Art Amend History”, he states “… my visual intelligence was required for me”, (3:08). Kapher is arguing that when he signed up for his art class he had to use his visual intelligence, meaning that he had to think about art. Thinking about art he could have interpreted artwork in many ways based on what he thought about the artwork and the way his art made him feel. In the article “No, All Art Is Not Political”, Nate Mancini states “…politics is not necessarily behind artistic decisions”, (Mancini). Mancini is arguing that when artwork is portrayed the artist might not have made it based on politics. Mancini and Kapher have the same mindsets that art is based really on the view of the art as art intelligence is that root of what art does to people. Art intelligence can determine what the reader feels and how they interpret the art.
